Holding your opposition to a negative number in the hitting department is generally guaranteed win territory and that's how it played out for the Capilano Blues men's volleyball team Friday night in a 3-0 win against the visiting University of the Fraser Valley Cascades.

The Blues also hit .423 themselves, led by Jacob Hopkins' .500 mark on 12 kills, in what was the team's final game before the exam and holiday break.

Set scores were 25-14, 25-19 and 25-21.

CapU trailed just once, briefly at the start of the second set, but would soon rattle off a five-point run to take control of the match. They had two runs of four points in the first set as well.

Ben Friesen had a loaded stat line Friday night that included six kills, eight digs, three aces and two block assists. Simon Friesen had 35 assists while Malachi McMullin chipped in 10 digs.

The Blues now sit atop the PACWEST standings at 10-3 and are on a nine-game winning streak.

Their next game will be on Jan. 11, 2020 when the College of the Rockies comes to CapU's Centre for Sport and Wellness.
