Darrin Moreira was hired in May 2022 as the head coach of the men's volleyball team.
A former Blues player, Moreira was part of a PACWEST gold-medal winning team in the 2012-13 season playing under coach Nathan Bennett.
The native of South Slocan, B.C. has extensive experience coaching at the university level, most recently as an assistant with the Trinity Western University women's team. For three seasons prior to that, he was the lead assistant with the men's team at UBC-Okanagan. Moreira has worked with Volleyball Canada as head coach of the Regional Excellence Program in Kelowna and has coached at the provincial level as well, leading the Team BC boy's side to a gold medal at the 2019 Canada Cup.
After completing a kinesiology diploma at CapU, Moreira went on to earn a master's degree in high-performance coaching and technical leadership at UBC.
