The Blues finished the season with a pair of matches this past weekend against the Langara Falcons and VIU Mariners.
Saturday evening, the Blues battled the Langara College Falcons at UBC's Warren Field to a 3-0 win.
"Today's game, the girls came out flying, they knew what was at stake and tried to fill the net. Get one, get another and another, and we did that." said head coach Dennis Kindel.
To finish their season, the women played their final match against the VIU Mariners at Mulgrave School in West Vancouver, BC resulting in a 2-0 win and a final regular-season record of 7 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw.
Kindel was impressed with his team's performance on Sunday as well. "Great team performance today. It was the last game of the season and we knew we had to come out flying right off the bat. The first minute in the game we came in, got a couple of chances and one goal."
The Blues clinched the league title by capturing the tie-breaker over the Douglas College Royals who played the Langara Falcons that same evening but were unable to score enough goals to take the #1 spot.
Their season continues on October 31st in the PACWEST Provincial Gold Medal match against the winner of the women's semi-final on Saturday, October 30th.
