Ben Ta took on his role as an assistant coach with Blues women's volleyball in July of 2022.
Ben is a former Blues varsity athlete and won a PACWEST provincial volleyball championship in 2013 along with current Blues men's head coach Darrin Moreira. A model student and varsity team member, Ben was named the CapU Men's Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2013 before transferring to the UBC where he was a member of the Thunderbirds men's varsity team.
Career highlights for Ben include two summers of playing for Team BC and on the coaching side, working with Team Canada’s Senior Women’s volleyball team, assistant coach roles with U16 and U18 Team BC Women, and coaching various youth and adult volleyball clinics for Volleyball BC at all levels for both indoor and beach volleyball since 2015. Now fully focused on the varsity level, he has been an assistant coach for Simon Fraser University's women’s volleyball team since 2017 as well as his new assistant role with CapU.
After completing his doctor of dental medicine degree at UBC in 2022, Dr. Ben is a practicing dentist at clinics in Coquitlam and Surrey.
