PACWEST Men's Volleyball Athlete of the Week

Capilano University Blues – Brendan Cairns

In a playoff implicated weekend, the sixth-place CapU Blues travelled to Abbotsford to take on the CBC Bearcats. Only needing one win to guarantee the Blues a berth in the PACWEST volleyball provincial championships next week (Feb. 25-27), they were able to get the job done behind the strong play of outside hitter, Brendan Cairns. Brendan was an essential part of the team's performance both Friday and Saturday night. Despite being upset 3-2 Friday, Cairns led the Blues with 27 kills, 1 ace and 4 blocks on the night. Saturday, Cairns dominated offensively with 26 kills, 1 ace and 1 block, leading the team to a much needed 3-1 win. Cairns currently leads the PACWEST in kills (4.71) and total offensive stats (5.26).
