After a season-high 29 point outing plus helping the Blues knock off previously unbeaten Vancouver Island Unversity, fifth-year guard Reiko Ohama has been named the PACWEST women's basketball Athlete of the Week.
Ohama scored 19 points and shot 4-of-7 from three-point range in Saturday's 78-65 win at the Centre for Sport and Wellness. She added four assists in the win and played 36 minutes to lead all players.
In Sunday's setback, the Kamloops native dropped 29 on 9-of-17 shooting with five assists to just one turnover.
Ohama shot 45.5 per cent from the floor on the weekend and was 12-of-16 from the free throw line. The 5-foot-5 senior is averaging 17.8 points per game in her last five games.
This is the second-straight week Blues women's basketball has taken the PACWEST honours after Kate Mallette earned it last week. Emma Cunningham took the nod on Nov. 12.
