Helping the Blues to an 18-6 mark in the PACWEST this season, Friesen orchestrated a Blues offence masterfully once again this season. The fifth-year setter racked up 764 assists, or 8.78 per set, and was named a conference First-Team All-Star for the fourth time.
The 6-foot-4 native of Abbotsford was a crucial part of the Blues' gold-medal turn at the PACWEST championships, piling up 129 assists in three games including 53 in an epic five-set triumph over Camosun College in the title game.
Friesen was named to the tournament All-Star team along with twin brother Ben and tournament MVP Rafael Hilario.
The all-star trio and the rest of the Blues are currently at the CCAA National Championships and face Durham College of Oshawa, Ont. in their first game. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday.
