Captain Adrianna Babinski and rookie Chase Doucette earn Athlete of the Week honours..
Ada Babinski is the Capilano University Blues Female Athlete of the Week.
The fifth-year veteran scored her first goal of the season early in the second half Sunday in a 4-1 home win over Langara. After stealing the ball from a Langara defender, Babinski slotted the ball home to give the Blues a commanding 3-0 lead. Earlier in the game, Babinski assisted on Jacqueline Reinhard’s first PACWEST goal.
The 5-foot-3 midfielder played all 180 minutes for the weekend and was a disruptive presence in the middle of the park for CapU.
Chase Doucette is the Capilano University Blues Male Athlete of the Week.
Doucette scored his first-ever PACWEST goal Saturday in a 3-2 defeat at Douglas College. Coming off the bench Sunday, the Centennial grad was asked for a spark with his team trailing Langara.
Doucette was effective in his role but couldn’t bring the Blues any closer in an eventual 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Falcons.
