A pair of Blues earn first-time Athlete of the Week recognition for week five of the 2024-25 season.
Ella Jennings
Ella Jennings is the Capilano University Blues women’s Athlete of the Week.
The third-year defender was a central figure in the Blues undefeated weekend. She shut down the middle of the Douglas attacking formation, allowing her side to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw.
On Sunday against Langara, Jennings was again in the starting 11 and did a stellar job breaking up Falcons passes and getting the ball up the field to her teammates.
Kaden Routley
Kaden Routley is the Capilano University Blues men’s Athlete of the Week.
The first-year striker from Kelowna scored his second goal of the season Saturday, putting the Blues ahead in the second half on the way to an eventual 2-2 stalemate with Douglas.
Routley put a shot on goal Sunday in a 2-1 setback to Langara and was a threat throughout the weekend, authoring several dangerous runs and repeatedly forcing opposition defenders into emergency clearances.
