Graduating women’s captain and central defender Lauren Grey caps her decorated career with an All-Star nod. The North Vancouver product returned to the Blues lineup after missing 2024 due to injury and was an anchor of the Blues back line.
Grey is joined on the women’s all-star team by Blues forward Sophie Pather, who for the second straight season, led the Blues in goalscoring after being converted from her original position of left back. Pather used her pace to her advantage and made countless productive runs up left wing this season with her passing and finishing accounting for more than half the Blues goals this season.
For both Grey and Pather, it’s the first time they have been recognized as PACWEST All-Stars.
The Blues men also had two players earning All-Star spots in captain Tommy Millar and forward Sebastian Cirotto.
Millar has been an All-Star in each of his three seasons with the Blues and once again showed versatility and leadership on the pitch, playing all over the park. The Blues veteran used his 6-foot-2 frame to make himself a reliable target for outlet passes and took almost every Blues free kick and corner kick.
Cirotto continued to show a nose for the net is his third season and it paid off for his second consecutive All-Star nod. The Burnaby native tied for the league lead with six goals over 11 games and now has 20 goals in his Blues career.
Both Blues All-Stars on the men’s side will need to bring their top game Saturday as Capilano is slated to meet Douglas College in the PACWEST semifinal, a 3 p.m. kickoff at CapU Squamish.
