Maddy Coffin is the Indigo Park Canada Capilano University Blues women's Athlete of the Week.
Coffin became the Blues all-time leading scorer on Friday in a narrow loss at Langara. Needing 10 points to surpass Carmelle M’Bikata on the Blues leaderboard, the North Vancouver product went for 20 despite the one-point loss and added nine rebounds.
She finished the regular season with another outstanding performance, posting a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds in another tight loss to the Falcons.
For the weekend, the fifth-year senior and local North Vancouver product had 42 points, 21 boards, three steals and two blocks.
Zach Klim is the Indigo Park Canada Capilano University Blues men’s Athlete of the Week.
The 6-foot-11 forward led the Blues in scoring and rebounds on both nights in a weekend sweep of Langara.
In Friday’s opener, Klim went for 21 points and 12 boards, including seven and seven in the fourth quarter to get the game to overtime, where Capilano took it by a point.
At home on Saturday in the season finale, Klim came off the bench to provide 22 points and 14 rebounds, six of those on the offensive glass.
For the weekend, Klim’s 43 points came on 60 per cent shooting from the field (18-of-30), he was 2-of-3 from downtown, had 26 boards and handed out six assists in the two wins.
