The fifth-year midfielder scored the Blues lone goal of the weekend in a 3-1 setback in the season opener Saturday at Langara.
Belbin’s goal, the first of her Blues career, brought Capilano within one against the Falcons, but the home side added insurance for a 3-1 final scor.e
Sebastian Cirotto is the Capilano University Blues men’s Athlete of the Week.
The Burnaby native scored twice, including the game-winning goal, on Sunday to help the Blues rebound with a 3-2 home win over Langara after sustaining a defeat on the Falcons turf in the season opener.
Cirotto was tapped to take the shot when the Blues were awarded a penalty kick Sunday, and his blast to the upper centre of the net gave the Blues a 2-0 lead at the time.
After Langara replied to get within one, Cirotto scored in the 66th minute with what proved to be the winner, running on to a cross from Zach Gabrys and putting it into the corner of the net.
