Hometown: Whistler, BC
Previous Whistler Secondary
Club: Micro Footie Academy
Height: 5'9"
Position: Winger

Ranjbar, "I chose Capilano University because it offers the perfect balance between academics and athletics. The community here is supportive, the campus environment feels welcoming, and the programs align with my academic goals. On top of that, playing soccer for Capilano gives me the chance to compete at a high level while representing a school I’m proud of. Being part of the team allows me to grow as both an athlete and a person, surrounded by teammates and coaches who push me to be my best."

Coach Millar, “We think that we have found a very big addition to our team with Josh. I was fortunate to coach Josh this summer at the Nations Cup, and after a couple of matches, I knew that he would fit in well with our team. Josh has excellent soccer intelligence and is very crafty on the ball. Josh’s personality allows him to come into our program and be a part of our leadership group from the beginning. He is already well respected by all of his teammates and our staff. With his competitiveness and abilities, Josh will play a big role in our team this year and for years to come. I’m very happy to see him in a Blues uniform!"

Brayden Schuhmacher

Height: 5'11"
Position: Goalkeeper

Schuhmacher, "I chose CapU for the incredible film program and the play for the Blues competitive environment."

Coach Millar, “We are very happy to have Brayden commit to our program. I have coached against Brayden for the past year or two. His coach in the Okanagan is a good friend of mine, and spoke very highly of Brayden and his character. Brayden has come into the preseason and fit in very well with the boys. As a young keeper, Brayden possesses good shot-stopping abilities and is very vocal in organizing his team in front of him. He has a strong desire to get better each time out, and we believe he will be an important player in our program.”

Rinto Sugiyama

Rinto Sugiyama

I can't wait to wear Blues' colours and bring back many titles. When I'm not with the team, I'm studying to earn a degree in Environmental Studies."

Coach Millar, “I am excited to have Rinto coming into our team. I have had the pleasure of coaching Rinto for the past two years, and being around him day in and day out, I am certain that he has all the qualities on the pitch and the character off the pitch to be a very important part of our team and the culture that we want to have. Rinto has a great soccer IQ and high skill level, and he offers us so much quality in a couple of positions. He will be a big contributor to our program this year and for years to come. I am thrilled to continue working with Rinto!"

I was fortunate to watch and coach him over the past winter and spring, and from the first moment I saw Callan play, I was convinced he would be a great addition to our team. Callan is a very athletic player with great quickness, and he’s willing to get into tackles and play the game the way it’s supposed to be played.
