A pair of goal scorers earn Athletes of the Week recognition in week two of the 2025 season.
Kianna Sardari is the Indigo Park Canada Capilano University Blues women's Athlete of the Week.
The first-year striker from North Vancouver sparked a Blues rally in the second half of Saturday’s home game against VIU.
Entering the game in the second half, Sardari quickly made her mark, scoring both Blues goals for the day in an eventual 5-2 defeat to VIU.
The pair of goals has vaulted Sardari into the team scoring lead, and she is among the PACWEST leaders in that department.
Tommy Millar is the Indigo Park Canada Capilano University Blues men’s Athlete of the Week.
The Blues captain was instrumental in an undefeated weekend for Capilano that saw them draw VIU at home and defeat Douglas on the road.
Millar opened the scoring Saturday, curling a brilliant free kick past the VIU keeper late in the first half. He then set up teammate Sebastian Cirotto early in the second half to put CapU up two in an eventual 2-2 result.
Sunday at Douglas, Millar continued to shoulder the physical burden for the Blues, using body position to make himself an option up the field in the Capilano transition game, paving the way for a late goal in a 1-0 victory.
