Hometown: Delta, BC
Previous Seaquam Secondary
Club: Fusion FC
Height: 5'8"
Position: Central Midfielder/Striker
Ali, "I chose CapU because of the competitive program and great atmosphere. I can't wait to compete and have a great season."
Coach Millar, “I have had the pleasure of knowing and coaching Aydin over the past couple of years at the club level. I’m ecstatic that he has decided to attend Capilano and play for us. Aydin has been outstanding in the preseason. With his technical abilities, his pace and work ethic, as well as his vision and willingness to get on the ball, Aydin will be an important player for us in the middle of midfield. I believe he is exactly the type of player we were missing in the middle of the park. Off the pitch, Aydin is also a great person who will add to the culture that we want for this team, and I know the players and coaches are looking forward to having him with us. Aydin is a very big signing for us!”
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Previous Vancouver Technical Secondary
Club: Micro Footie Academy
Height: 168 cm
Position: Fullback/Winger
Coach Millar, "Tate is a young player that I have watched for years. When he contacted me about playing for Capilano this coming season, I jumped at the opportunity of bringing him in. Tate is a tidy player and has a very good soccer IQ. He is going to come into this team and play a huge role from the start. He will be one of our more senior players for this very young team. I am excited to work with Tate every day and watch the contributions that he brings to the team week in and week out."
Hometown: White Rock, BC
Previous Elgin Park Secondary
Club: Coastal FC
Height: 6'1"
Position: Goalkeeper
Coach Millar, “I have been watching Josh in goal for the past couple of years, as I had been coaching against him in the BCSPL. Josh possesses all the skills that we look for in a goalkeeper, which we believe is important, so that we are hopefully not changing too much how we play from the back if we change keepers. This was very important to us as we built this team. Josh has integrated well with all his teammates from the first day of camp and has put together some very solid performances in the preseason. He has shown that he’s a good team person, and we are very happy to have him playing for us. We believe he will play a significant role in the puzzle this season and for years to come."
Hometown: Coquitlam, BC
Previous Dr. Charles Best Secondary
Club: Coquitlam Metro Ford
Height: 6'0"
Position: Forward
Gabrys, "I chose CapU because of the great team environment as well as the belief Coach Steve has in me. I’m excited to further my soccer career and education at CapU next year.”
Coach Millar, "I’m beyond thrilled to have Zach come into our program. Zach comes from a great club in Metro Ford. I’ve coached against Zach for a while now, and each time out that I’ve seen him, he has caused fits for defenders. Zach has come into camp and immediately shown the quality we knew he had, and has excelled since day one. With his work ethic, his abilities and the standards that he sets for himself and expects of his teammates, Zach has shown he will be a young leader and a big part of our core group right away. This is a great signing for us! I look forward to working with Zach day in and day out, and I believe he will have a lot of success with us over the years."
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Previous Point Grey Secondary
Club: Vancouver United
Height: 6'3"
Position: Forward
Coach Millar, “Campbell will be a very big part of our program this season and for years to come. Although he is a young player, Campbell is quite an imposing front-runner, thanks to his size and skill. I was fortunate enough to play with and against John Catliff years ago, and the very first time I watched Campbell train, I could not believe how many similarities there were between the two of them, right from his appearance with the blonde hair and big body, to his skill level, his change of pace that is very deceiving, and his left foot. These were all things that John had, and made him one of the best strikers this country has had. We aren’t meaning to put that type of pressure on Campbell, as that’s a lot to live up to. But we believe we’ve found a good one in Campbell, and we are excited to watch him this year."
