Mia Parkin is the Indigo Park Canada Capilano University Blues women's Athlete of the Week.
The second-year guard authored the Blues’ first triple-double of the season in a dominant win over Douglas College Friday night as she went for 11 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. She shot a tidy 5-for-8 and also snagged three of her boards on the offensive glass.
On Saturday, Parkin again filled the stat sheet as she provided 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals to go along with eight points as the Blues came within a hair’s breadth of a weekend sweep of the #2-ranked Royals.
For the weekend, Parkin shot 58 per cent from the field on the way to 19 points, 22 boards, 15 assists, four steals and two blocks.

Lang moved into second all-time in Blues career scoring after posting 32 points in a pair of wins over Douglas.
In Friday’s opener, the Idaho native went for 19 points, which included a 3-for-5 effort from three-point range while adding eight rebounds and four assists.
On Saturday, needing four points to move past Martin Bogajev on the Blues’ career list, Lang netted 13 on 6-of-10 shooting to go along with six boards and five assists. Lang now sits at 1,118 points for his three-season Blues career.
His weekend line was 32 points (54.5 per cent shooting), 14 rebounds, nine assists and two steals.
