CapU Blues sports info
Playing their first game of 2026, and their first action in almost seven weeks, the Capilano Blues posted a 94-72 win against the visiting Okanagan College Coyotes.
Kash Lang’s 23 points led the way for the Blues with the fifth-year guard also recording five rebounds and five assists.
Zach Klim, in pursuit of the program’s all-time lead in rebounds, had to sit down early with a couple of quick fouls. He picked up two more fouls in the third quarter and ended up playing just 16 minutes on the night. The 6-foot-11 forward still grabbed seven boards, putting him 13 away from the all-time mark of 405 held by Luke Wera.
Key notes and numbers:
- Lang started hot and was efficient early, scoring 10 points in the first quarter on 4-of-4 shooting
- Sukhraj Garcha drove the Blues offence in the second half as he scored 12 of his 20 points in the third quarter, including a pair of threes
- Zach Hamed helped key the Blues’ 33-point third quarter, scoring all eight of his points on the night, including two from downtown
- Every Blues player that dressed saw floor time; Josh Vandevelde led the reserves with five points and three rebounds
Capilano and Okanagan go at it again on Saturday in an adjusted 2 p.m. start, one hour ahead of the originally scheduled time as the women’s games were cancelled this weekend.
